Spent the day at Stanford University. Such a beautiful place. The campus is so large that many people cycle.  So many students and faculty whizzed by on bicycles that I feared witnessing a collision. Centre of the campus is a large quad and a church erected to honour the mother of Leland Stanford, after whom the university is name. All of the buildings have a crafted uniform look. The colour reminds me of the central area of the University of Queensland in Brisbane. The list of Nobel Prize winners who are or have been faculty is impressive.
