It has taken a while to post something about Hearst Castle. After years of watching Citizen Kane, it was slightly confronting to visit the castle. Here I am  3 days later and I finally offer a few humble words. I went on tour #1, recommended for people new to the castle. Time accelerated, so that my 1.5 hours there seemed like a few minutes. I calculate I needed a day to begin to appreciate the place. So my tour was merely brushing the surface of all that beauty and bravado. A truly remarkable place, which I am grateful for the chance to see.
