David Adelsheim, the founder and original winemaker at Adelsheim Vineyard, toured Hong Kong, Macao and a range of mainland China cities in July to raise awareness of wines from Oregon in the United States in this region.
Adelsheim Vineyard was one of the original properties in the Willamette Valley in the state to the north of California.
California produces 90 per cent of America’s wine, while Oregon makes less than 1 per cent. Yet Oregon wins vastly more awards. Almost 40 per cent of Oregon wines reviewed in America’s wine media have received 90 or more points.
David Adelsheim spoke with DecanterCHINA.com video reporter Stephen Quinn.
