Google’s adverts inside video: AdSense

Google plans to sell advertisements to appear inside videos. The money spent on web video  advertisements is a tiny part of the $US 20 billion allocated to Internet ads in the US. But Google wants to capitalise on the boom in online video. The new program is called AdSense for Video. It could help web publishers make more money from their video clips. AdSense for Video will offer advertisers a choice between video or text advertisements that will be overlaid on a small portion of the video viewer. The text advertisements will rotate every 20 seconds and be tailored to match the content of the video and the web page where the video is played. Initially AdSense will only be available in the United States, and to sites that stream at least one million videos a month.
